Our shipping, returns and privacy policies. If anything here is unclear, call the cafe and ask — a person answers.
Shipping
Retail goods only
We are a cafe that sells a few things off the shelf, not a mail-order kitchen.
What ships Retail items only — cookbooks and seasoning mixes. Nothing perishable is posted.
All orders are shipped weekly on Wednesdays. Orders placed Wednesday before 9am will usually ship the same day.
If you order after that window, your parcel goes out on the following Wednesday. We will tell you if anything is on back order rather than holding the whole thing quietly.
Cakes, pies and desserts are made and sold at The Sweetery , and food from the cafe kitchen — catering platters, Heat & Feast trays, anything off the menu — is collected in person at 101 North Main Street. If it does not keep on a shelf, we will not put it in a box.
Returns
Exchanges and store credit
Seasonings and books are food and paper, so the rule is the one the old store has always run.
Returns Returns are not accepted. If a quality issue arises from an item, an exchange of the identical item or similar item of equal or lesser value may be initiated, or store credit can be issued. Refunds are not given on perishable items.
If something arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, ring us on (352) 748-1223 or email contactus@cafecotillion.com within a week of it landing and we will put it right. Keep the packaging if you can — it helps us make the case with the carrier.
Privacy
What we do with your details
We are a restaurant, not a data business. The short version: we keep what you send us to answer you, and nothing else.
- Enquiry forms. The name, email, phone number and message you send through the forms on our contact page are used to answer that enquiry. They are not sold, and they are not added to any mailing list unless you ask.
- The newsletter. If you sign up, we keep your email address to send a few messages a year about seasonal menus and Magnolia Room events. Every one carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes the address.
- Orders and payments. Online ordering, gift cards and card payments are handled by Square on Square’s own systems. We never see or store your card number. Their handling of your payment details is governed by Square’s privacy policy, not ours.
- Event tickets. Ticketed seatings are sold through Parlor, the same booking system that takes our table reservations. We receive the guest list for the seating you booked.
- This website. We do not run advertising trackers on it. Anything the site remembers stays in your own browser.
